HOW DO I SCHEDULE SERVICE

What happens first?

When you call or e-mail us, we will listen to your needs and determine what services we can help you with.  We will collect information from you about the site and best times to provide service and will schedule and appointment for a technician to come out. An appointment is normally set up during our first phone call and typically meets your timeline for compliance. If possible, it is helpful for us to know approximately how many fire extinguishers are on site and what brand a kitchen fire suppression system is so that we can allow enough time for our initial service.

How does it go?

When servicing fire extinguishers:

  • Assess for hazards and proper placement, type and size of fire extinguishers
  • Record the exact location of every fire extinguisher, size, brand and new date
  • Service and tag each fire extinguisher and pull it out for periodic maintenance if needed, and/or relocate the extinguisher for proper placement
  • Install new fire extinguishers, if needed, to meet standards for life safety protection
  • Install or relocate existing fire extinguisher signs

When servicing kitchen fire suppression systems:

  • Perform function testing of the components to ensure proper operation from the manual pull station, detection line, shut-off of fuel sources and the fire alarm in the event of a system discharge
  • Replace links that would allow the system to discharge automatically during a fire
  • Replace other parts as recommended by the system manufacturer

What happens next?

We encourage you to perform monthly checks in between our annual service. We maintain a database with your account details so we can provide more efficient service in years to come, as well as predict how many units will require periodic maintenance. As the recommended service time approaches, we’ll follow up to schedule an appointment at your convenience. Every six years, we’ll bring your fire extinguishers to the shop for comprehensive maintenance — as required in the codes — to ensure that the extinguisher will function when needed.

They’re very prompt, and they pick up and deliver. Gordon Fire definitely makes life easier for us.”

“Gordon Fire Equipment provides and services the fire extinguishers at my automotive shop. We’ve worked with them for 15-20 years and they are great at what they do. I can’t think of one thing they could do better in terms of service or support. They are always reliable, dependable and very professional.”

Anthony Lanzarone, President

Gunk Haus

387 South St, Highland, NY 12528

“We were renovating a new restaurant and made the mistake of choosing the cheapest vendor for a fire suppression system — bad idea. Gordon Fire Equipment was able to come in and fix the problems that were left behind before anything major happened. We’ve worked with them ever since. We trust Gordon Fire because they’re meticulous about what they do.”

Dirk Schalle, Restaurant Owner

Hudson River Housing, Inc.

“Gordon Fire Equipment maintains the fire extinguishers in our 38+ buildings and the fire suppression systems in our three commercial kitchens. What I appreciate most is that they’re proactive, very detailed and customer service-oriented — they schedule inspections, they’re always on time, they make suggestions and keep us informed of the latest code changes. It takes the pressure off me. Work with them and you’ll have nothing to worry about. You’ll be in good hands.”
